Preschool and PreKindergarten Information
  • PreSchool and PreKindergarten applications are reviewed and considered on a rolling basis. Admissions decisions are made throughout the year as application files are completed. There is no official deadline.
  • Any family may apply a child once the online application goes “Live” in September.
  • Siblings of SJS families may receive an Admissions decision in the month of September before non-SJS applicants.
  • All PS/PK applicants (both SJS families and non-SJS families) may receive an Admissions decision after the month of September.
  • Teacher recommendations are required for PS/PK applicants who have been in a daycare or school setting. 
  • PreSchool applicants must be 2 years, 9 months old by September 1 of the academic year in which they enroll. 
  • PreKindergarten students must be 4 years old by September 1 of the academic year in which they enroll. 
  • PreSchool students must be potty-trained by the time they start classes.
Kindergarten-Grade 6 Information
  • Any family may apply a child once the online application goes “Live” in September.
  • January 31 is the school's application “deadline”. While applications will be considered after January 31, applications received before January 31 will be considered first.
  • Kindergarten through 6th Grade applications are reviewed and considered starting in February (after the re-enrollment of current students).
  • Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1 of the academic year in which they enroll.
  • Teacher recommendations are required for all applicants. The name of a current teacher and his/her email address can be included in the submitted application.
  • A Shadow Day visit is required for all Grade One through Grade Six applicants. A Shadow Day occurs from 8:30 AM to 11 AM.
  • All K-6 admissions decisions (both SJS families and non-SJS families) are made after February 15th.

PS and PK applications reviewed and admissions made on rolling basis 
Applications and tours continue for PS- Grade 6

Applications and tours continue for PS- Grade 6
January: Application Deadline for K-6 applications: Jan 1, 2025
Updated tuition rates announced
Shadow days scheduled for applicants
 

March: Admission Decisions announced for K-6 applicants
Parent Information Session for newly accepted students: March 21, 2025
Enrollment Packets Due March 24, 2025: $550 Registration fee is charged after the enrollment packet is completed 
Incoming K student assessments scheduled
May: Tuition Payment Schedule begins 
Families have the choice to pay in full on May 1 or make 4 quarterly payments (May 1, August 1, Nov 1, Feb1)

Important:

PS & PK will be admitted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
SJS first needs to determine the number of returning students in each 2025/26 grade based on the reenrollment of current students in January and February. As a result, all K-6 Admissions decisions will be made by March 2025.

The Saint John School Preschool, PreKindergarten, and Kindergarten programs are designed for students who meet the minimum age requirements. Admission is based on available openings, and students must turn 2yrs/9mo, 4yrs, and 5yrs, respectively, on or before August 31st of the enrollment year. Please note, that students must be potty-trained before starting school.
