Elementary School

In Elementary school, students begin a major transition in their intellectual growth. Hands-on, experiential learning and activities are a major component of our curriculum. Appropriately challenging work sparks curiosity, imagination, and enthusiasm. Our students are supported by their teachers as they begin to approach the world more logically, form good work habits and take on greater levels of independence and complexity. Our curriculum helps our students explore the world through all their academic disciplines in our immersive units of different topics. An effort is made to integrate curricular themes, as students' ability to make connections and relate one concept or idea to another gradually evolves. SJS Students conclude Grade 4 confident that they have mastered all the skills necessary for future success in middle school. Our Elementary Program gives students the building blocks for a strong foundation, all while having a great deal of fun and building lifelong friendships.

The core subjects in Elementary School are Math, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar, Science, Social Studies and Religion. Their Specials are STEM, Spanish, Technology, Physical Education, Art and Music.
