XC-Cross Country


Our Cross Country team provides our student-athletes with tremendous opportunity for camaraderie and team building. Anyone can join no matter what their skill level and each Cardinal runner is challenged to push themselves physically and mentally while also creating friendships and forming new bonds with their teammates. Our coaches are experienced road racers and veterans marathoners. The Cardinals on Tuesdays and Fridays with several meets throughout the fall season. 



Susan Mix is a Wellesley resident and long-time runner, with more than 20 years of experience including 19 marathons, more than 30 half marathons, and more 10K and 5K races than she can remember! A former nurse, she translated her passion for health and movement into a new career as a running coach and specialty run sales associate who you may have chatted with at Wellesley's own Marathon Sports location. She has been coaching groups for 5 years, most recently in the Dreamfar High School Marathon program and virtually through an online running app. She is a member of the Tracksmith Boston Hares Masters Team as well as the Suburban Striders Running Club. Susan is RRCA, CPR, and First Aid certified. 

Christine Nelson is our School Counselor and Technology teacher at Saint John School. She graduated from Lasell College with her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and received her Masters of Art in Counseling/Psychology from Lesley University. She has been a running coach and mentor for various youth running organizations, such as Title IX Girls Running Club, Girls on the Run and Dreamfar. She loves getting out for a run no matter the weather conditions in New England and enjoys training for upcoming races.
