Middle School

Grade 5

● Each morning at 8 am, assignments in each subject will be posted to Google Classroom.
● Homeroom teachers will lead live Zooms 11:00 - 11:45 focusing on Social Emotional Learning and
academic support.
● Subject teachers will provide 30 minute Zooms 2-3 times a week for students to get help with work,
ask questions, work in small groups, or quietly do work while teachers are present.
● To deliver content and assess student learning, teachers will utilize a combination of books, written
journaling, textbooks, workbooks, worksheets, videos, iXL, EdPuzzle, BrainPop, Pearson Realize,
Seesaw and FlipGrid.
● To turn in and receive feedback on assignments, students will use Google classroom, SeeSaw, or FlipGrid.
● To communicate with students and parents, an email will be sent by Monday morning containing a
weekly newsletter with an assignment grid that lists the assignments for each class each day and a
grid that includes enrichment materials and assignments for all specials.
● To provide additional support for parents and students, teachers will be available via email or Google
Classroom during regular school hours.
 

Grade 6

● Each morning by 8 am, assignments in each subject are posted to Google Classrooms.
● Homeroom teachers lead live Zooms 1:30-2:15 focusing on SEL and academic support M-Th.
Fridays are devoted to a mandatory offline HR assignment.
● Zoom sessions for individual class subjects are offered daily either in whole class, small group, or
drop-in formats.
● The team provides a weekly newsletter with assignment grids containing work for all classes for each
day along with Zoom schedules by Monday morning to parents via email and to students via Google
Classroom.
● To deliver content and assess student learning, teachers will utilize a combination of books, written
journaling, textbooks, workbooks, worksheets, videos, iXL, EdPuzzle, BrainPop, Pearson Realize,
Seesaw and FlipGrid.
● To turn in and receive feedback on assignments, students will use Google classroom, SeeSaw, or
FlipGrid.
● New material will continue to be introduced in all subject areas.
● Students are directed to use the Specialist Enrichment grid which includes enrichment assignments
for core academic classes as well.
● Teachers are available via email M-F during regular school hours for any questions/concerns. If
parents need to contact us after school hours they should feel free to do so, we are here to help, teach,
and guide as much as we can.
