Tuition and Fees

Saint John the Evangelist School provides an excellent Catholic education while maintaining a reasonable cost structure. The Registration Fee and Tuition provide for approximately 75% of the actual operating costs of the school. Additional revenues are provided by:

• Saint John the Evangelist Parish
• Fundraising
• Gifts/Endowment.

The Saint John School Council operates the school on a financial break-even basis. Due to yearly increase in operating costs, small increases in tuition can be expected annually. The Saint John School community appreciates the financial sacrifices families make by sending their children to the school. We are sincerely thankful and most grateful to have such families as a part of our community.

Tuition Payment For The School Year

Pre-Kindergarten:
Tuition is billed in four (4) installments. The first installment is due upon acceptance. The second installment is due in February. The third installment is due on the student's first day of school. The final payment is due in March.

Kindergarten through Grade 6:
Tuition is billed in four (4) equal installments due on the 5th of September, November, January and March. A late fee of $75.00 per child will be assessed for each late payment.

By establishing clear policies as to the collection of tuition, it is the hope that conflicts will be avoided and the school's outstanding professional and Christian reputation will be protected.

The policy outlines specific action to be taken by the school in the event that tuition payments are delinquent and allows for the appointment of a member of the Budget Committee to aid in the monitoring and collection of tuition.

A family who is active in St. John the Evangelist Parish and is a contributor to the parish of a minimum of $500.00 per year is entitled to a $500.00 discount on the tuition of any child in Kindergarten through Grade 6. This discount is determined by the parish based on an annual recorded contribution to St. John Parish made by June 30 for the coming school year.

If, on more than one occasion, a check is returned to St. John School for insufficient funds, then the school will have the option of requiring any or all future payments to be made with certified funds.

Lunch Duty
In addition to tuition, it is the responsibility of each family who has a child in Kindergarten through Grade 6 to supervise the lunchroom and schoolyard (or classrooms, in inclement weather) during lunch and recess. Each family is obligated to cover six days or has the option of paying $60.00 to cover substitutes' fees. A $20.00 penalty is accessed to anyone who does not show up for his/her scheduled day or does not arrange for substitute.

Application Fee
An application fee of $50.00 is required for those who wish to be considered for enrollment.

Registration Fee 2007-2008: Kindergarten - Grade 6
A Registration Fee of $500.00 must be paid by February 1st in the prior year for each student entering grades Kindergarten through Grade 6. The Registration Fee reserves a place for your child within the school in the upcoming academic year beginning in September.

Tuition 2007-2008: Kindergarten - Grade 6
The total tuition for a student in grades Kindergarten through Grade 6 is $4,375.00. The due dates and payments are as follows:

Pre-Kindergarten Tuition - 2007-2008
The Registration Fee does not apply to Pre-Kindergarten students. The Parish Discount on tuition is not available for Pre-Kindergarten students. The total tuition for Pre-Kindergarten students is $4,825.00

The due dates and payments are as follows:

Prior to enrollment year: November 1st $500, March 1st $500
Enrollment year: September 15th $1,912.50, March 15th $1,912.50
Total $4,825.00

Pre-Kindergarten Stay Day Fees - 2006-2007
Saint John the Evangelist School offers to families of Pre-Kindergarten students the opportunity to extend the school day until 2:10 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Session 1 runs from October 2, 2006 through December 21, 2006. Session 2 runs from January 2, 2007 through May 24, 2007.
